Lead development of all internal Spectrum software including backend servers, API interfaces, reporting software, front-end web pages, and applications. I worked with an awesome team on software for police officers and groups dealing with criminal justice information. Our team maintained an enterprise level Java application used by thousands of Police, Fire, and Dispatching agencies across the United States. My role focused on translating data between various formats used by state, local, and federal agencies, since many agencies followed different Criminal Justice data protocols. These various standards sent data in XML, XSL, JSON, and Plain Text, and we needed to translate the various pieces of data into whatever standard was being used by a particular agency.Our product also interfaced with various other Motorola products to create a customizable software suite, and I also worked on translation of data from these other products.As our team dealt with highly sensitive government data, we were all certified to work with CJIS data and kept that certification up to date in each locality that we worked with. In addition to this, we used very structured CI/CD practices and followed precise standards and styles in our product to ensure we conformed to security best practices and had a maintainable application.

I was the owner and sole member of a web development company. I developed web pages ranging from those with simple static content to pages requiring complex data processing, storage, and auth needs. In this position I was responsible for making sure our team was efficient, on task, and adhering to the principals of Agile Development (specifically in the Scrum framework). On the product management side of a project I coordinated with Product owners and designers to create timelines and visions for final products. Once those were established, I served as the intermediary between the development team and product owner. This meant helping the team plan and execute sprints effectively. I planned and set goals, facilitated backlog grooming, tracked team metrics, and kept the sprint focused by removing roadblocks and preventing scope creep (work being added from outside of the project scope). When sprints were completed I oversaw product demos and user testing.In my time as Scrum Master, our completion rate for our sprint backlog went from ~70-80% to nearly 100%+ every sprint. At first being Scrum Master took all of my time, but after things became more stable and efficient, I was able to participate as a developer as well. I added minor features, resolved bugs, and coded improvements for our project. All development on our team was done for Web apps in the Angular framework. I worked in this framework using Javascript (with the Typescript plugin), HTML, and CSS. My development work was all on the front end of our applications.

In this position I was part of a team responsible for upper tier support for approximately 1000 business users, as well as tech support for various international locations. I built and deployed scripts, managed networks and storage solutions, applied security protocols, designed and deployed computer images, and repaired slow or damaged computer systems. We worked with Windows and used SCCM, Powershell, Active Directory, Windows Backup, and various other windows software. We also did work on Linux machines that were used as imaging platforms with the FOG imaging system.
