I maintain a deep understanding of industry standards including PPE requirements, confined space entry, lockout/tagout procedures and safe work/hot work/vehicle entry permits. Calibrate equipment as needed & create SOPs.►IMPACT:#Aggressive testing strategy results in in 100% avoidance of major events; discovered natural gas leak through inspection resulting in early deployment of safety measures and zero lost days due to plant closure#Maintain American Petroleum Institute (API) standards during the examination of materials, structures and components; interpret and analyze data analytics#Conduct ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and visual tests to identify failed or failing components and interpret results using qualified and appropriate methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications and procedures#Recognized for understanding that unplanned shutdowns lose money; able to anticipate potential safety threats and deliver solutions that avoid escalated issues#Complete 10 hours of OSHA training per year with focus on safety & compliance within the petro-chemical industry

My Role: I served in the 245th Engineer Company and held responsibility for maintaining multimillion-dollar equipment, vehicles and sensitive government-owned assets. I worked cross-functionally with Engineers and administrative personnel to manage day-to-day vehicle maintenance and chem-lab safety. #Built understanding of chemical reactions and potential safety threats through hands-on training in the safe handling and disposal of chemicals
