I stand for protecting individual rights and helping those who have been disenfranchised or harmed. Social issues that empower me are civil/human rights; voting access and rights; anti-discrimination; and climate justice.I am culturally literate from my time spent in the United States Army with it's diverse population, my volunteer work and residency in Hawai'i, and my experiences from the urban landscape of California to the rural parts of Iowa and Tennessee. I have insight, empathy, and understanding as to the lives and experiences of those that come from different backgrounds.I am a talented researcher and writer; skills that I have developed since the beginning of my professional career when I joined the Army up to my time with the Orange County Associate Defender's Office. I am detail-oriented, purpose driven, and am passionate about finding facts and information in pursuit of greater understanding, knowledge, and justice.I work well in teams, as I am an excellent communicator and a strong briefer, but I also excel working individually, as I am a problem solver and self motivated. My strong work ethic has given me the opportunity to work in many different settings and develop an array of skills.A personal interest of mine is traveling. I have been to the Republic of Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and have seen much of the United States. I love seeing new places and enjoying new experiences. I also enjoy movies, especially period pieces and documentaries, reading, and creative writing. My favorite hobbies include Muay Thai, boxing, and outdoor sports.
