During my two weeks experience for DBCA I had to follow and conduct surveying techniques to help with research on the Northwest Shelf Flatback Turtles on Thenevard Island, North West Australia. Data collected involved capture-mark-recapture survey techniques with duties including patrolling the beach at night for nesting turtles, tagging, measuring and sampling skin biopsy. Deploying satellite PIT tags, morning beach walks counting tracks missed and entering both qualitative and quantitative data each day. Every day was different and an exciting experience which I was grateful to be apart of such an excellent team, collecting real and meaningful data for DBCA
