When I was 14 I first started helping my father out with his own company. I would be weeding our yards, I would be planting around our yard. Once I became a freshman in Highschool, that’s when I really started working. I would go out to work after school, depending on what season it was, I would be doing cleanups, cutting lawns or shoveling/plowing. During the early spring seasons is when cleanups are in-session. For this, my father and I will blow off the yards with a leaf blower, and pick up all of the leaves throughout the yards. Once it gets to summer, this is when the lawn cutting starts. As a man in college now, I have learned to do many things throughout working in this field. I have always been the once to weed wack the houses, while my father does the grass cutting, in Highschool, I wasn’t familiar with how to use the sitting lawnmower. As I grew older and where I am now, my father has let me start cutting yards by myself and I love doing this as my job. This next upcoming summer in 2025, I will be running this business by myself. I have learned how to cut grass, weed wack, thatch yards, seed yards, place mulch, place trees/plants and many more skills that I could go on and on about.

Working here at Wagonwheel I had many different roles. First I started out as a worker that would be on job sites, helping with moving things, such as trees, plants, rocks, etc. As the weeks went on, I was fortunate enough to be able to start working as a truck/delivery driver for the company. Here I would get the online orders that customers would place online and I would have my dump truck and fill the dump with either stone, mulch, sand, wood chips and many different items. I would then drive to wherever they needed it to be dropped off. I now have my DOT card and am able to drive company trucks without question. I learned many different skills while working here. This is mostly my summer job, and the rest of the year I am at school.
