• Provide project management and policy analysis support on the Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) Marketplace Operations Support contract for the Marketplace Plan Management Group (MPMG) for qualified health plan certification.• Track and review Transparency and Coverage data elements (total number of claims, # of appeals, # of claims denied, etc.) that issuers are required to submit over four data-submission rounds in compliance with federal QHP Certification submission requirements. Responsibilities include synthesizing regulations into the business rules for Python program, working with programming team to identify process improvements or data errors, and providing technical assistance to issuers on updates needed to their application to adhere to federal guidelines.• Provide analytic support to a human-centered design (HCD) project to identify major pain points in QHP certification communications and prioritize potential improvements to ensure states and issuers receive the QHP certification information in a user-friendly way. Responsibilities include conducting key information interviews, analyzing stakeholder interview notes to conduct a thematic analysis, developing policy recommendations to address issuer pain points, and formulating briefing PowerPoints and memos for CCIIO leadership.• Conduct research for CCIIO in evaluating how health equity is currently addressed within state, federal and public sectors to determine how to best advance health equity in the Exchanges. Responsibilities include researching existing resources and methods for measuring or assessing health equity, developing a policy options paper, assisting with implementing selected options through the rulemaking process, and triaging, summarizing, and responding to stakeholder public comments on proposals. • Provide project management support for the implementation of standardized plan designs into the Health Insurance Exchanges for upcoming plan years.

- Managed five State University Partnership Learning Network (SUPLN) projects and programs to promote evidence-based Medicaid-specific policymaking at the state level - Conducted qualitative research and project management support to the Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network (MODRN)- Served on a PCORI-funded project team tasked with defining COVID-19 policy priorities to inform a Medicaid-specific cross-state research agenda. Assisted with the creation of the project workplan, established and managed a workgroup of state agency staff and university researchers to inform project deliverables, and coordinate all virtual convenings for the award. - Conducted interviews with 27 state Medicaid officials to create an inventory of Medicaid opioid use disorder (OUD) policies across 13 states for a NIDA-funded OUD project that aims to identify and align 20+ evidence-based opioid treatment measures across the states to compare their performance and identify the best Medicaid OUD treatment policies.- Supported a project to identify shared state-federal Medicaid policy priorities that could be analyzed through cross-state analysis. Responsibilities included developing an environmental scan to 42 Medicaid chief clinical officers to assess policy priorities, conducting key informant interviews with 12 state-university researchers to capture specific research analyses and measures of interest, synthesizing the findings into a final report, and drafting and submitted other project deliverables and milestones. - Coordinated a year-long MACPAC-funded cross-state analysis project with four states to explore the concurrent use of non-opioid controlled substances and opioids and the treatment of non-opioid substance use disorders. Managed communications between participating universities and MACPAC, drafted and submitted all project deliverables, assisted with the creation of the project’s chartbook of findings, and synthesized project findings into an issue brief.

- Served as the summer policy intern supporting a bipartisan team with responsibilities that included legislation tracking, policy research, bill and regulation summaries, and committee hearing coverage- Assisted in the development of a policy brief regarding the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Hospital Compare Star Rating methodology for hospital clients which was utilized by the firm’s policy arm- Worked directly with one of the firm’s client CEOs to create infographics and other content for a policy paper urging Congress to move towards a Unified Payment System for post-acute care providers. The content was later published in an article in Health Affairs- Assisted the Root Cause Coalition with in planning the logistics of their 3rd Annual National Summit on the Social Determinants of Health. In addition, I was invited to attend the summit to assist the staff in the day-to-day operations of the event.

- Responsible for the creation of a marketing campaign to obtain attendance for the grand opening of a free market across a variety of different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.- Achieved a 303% increase in service level for the free market from February 2018 to March of 2018.- Developed a community health assessment in order to gage the top priorities for the organization to target in the coming year.

- Worked as the public health intern in the Emergency Response Unit in the Office of Health Preparedness. My primary responsibilities included the following:- Assessed local health department's emergency response plans (ERPs) based on guidelines set by the Ohio Department of Health in accordance with the deliverables for the current grant year. In addition, I consulted with the local health departments on changes to be made to their emergency response framework in order to be compliant with the new guidelines. - Developed a white paper detailing the CMIST profile tool and its incorporation into local engagement efforts. The CMIST profile tool is used to estimate the demographics of key CMIST indicators in state, regional, and local jurisdictions. This tool drew data from the U.S. Census Bureau and other reliable databases, such as the Department of Health & Human Services emPOWER Map. CMIST is critical component of health equity for public health preparedness and response. Along with efforts address other factors of health equity, e.g. racial status, gender, sexual orientation, etc., CMIST supports a comprehensive approach to protect and improve the health of all Ohioans.- Collaborated with the Office of Health Policy and Performance Improvement and a variety of other internal partners to establish an agenda for the current grant year and years to come for emergency preparedness and response for populations with access and functional needs. I worked with Ohio EMA and a variety of other stakeholders to facilitate better preparedness for all Ohioans.
