As a Consumer Loan Specialist I was to take online and over the phone loan applications from members. I was to then review and contact the member after receiving the loan decision. Upon approval, I processed the loan application and gathered all necessary documentation to complete the loan. This role also included the analyzation of credit reports seeking cross-sell/upsell opportunities. Assisting members in strengthening and reviewing possible ways to build their credit was a key factor in this position. I temporarily specialized and partnered in a program called MI Saves providing the financing for energy efficient home upgrades. I explained the importance of and sold extra protection products and services offered by the credit union as well as promoted the products and services within.

Being an E-Lending Processor I was to aide in the processing of all loans that came through via online, from the branches, or directly to me. I was to review and verify all applications and send documents for electronic signature. I was also tasked with calling on open loan applications after reviewing credit reports and gathering all necessary information. Once all documentation was obtained, the loan was then sent to underwriting for decisioning. This position was able to increase my knowledge in the processing of multiple loans and greatly improved my time management skills with having to balance processing and taking loan applications.

Coming into this role I was to commit and post transactions for members within the credit union. Of these transactions I made payments, account transfers, deposits/withdraws, etc. I was eventually given the title of mentor throughout the department in order to assist coworkers and train incoming video tellers. This built upon my leadership skills and allowed me take on extra side tasks appointed by my manager. This role was vital in teaching me the inner workings of a financial institution and helped me grow immensely in my hope to eventually become a leader.

As a retail store associate I was to assist guests with any needs throughout the store. Of those, I specialized in the Tech area, as well as shopping for guests who placed an online pickup order. I was to properly finish tasks individually along with working as a team. This position built upon my previous customer service skill set and gave me a new perspective on the functionality of retail stores.

Within this role I was to care for and assist children in their learning. I ensured they remained on task and completed their online school days efficiently. Through this position I was able to effectively gain knowledge on caring for children. I was also able to lead as an example for this company and possibly for companies in the future guiding their way through a pandemic and attempting to assist their employees in caring for their children’s online education.

As a serving team leader I was to train incoming servers, handle high pressure situations, and act as a supervisor to fellow workers. Through this role I was able to develop more personable skills as well as learn how to handle difficult customers when in challenging situations. Within big events I assisted in leading the set up and take down of the floor plan layout. I was able to leave with experience in being an active manager and became well equipped with the skills to help run a business.
