This program is designed for students committed to community engagement. I am 1 of 11 scholars who were selected to be part of the program. Each of us are paired with a community partner whom we serve with for the duration of the academic year. Mine is the Local History Department of the Capital Area District Libraries, and for my service I conduct quality assurance for historical records as well as organizing and executing outreach efforts. As a cohort, the other scholars and I are tasked with organizing an event to benefit the community.

In this role, I host walk-in writing consultation hours where students of any year or major in James Madison College can visit and have me assist them with any writing needs they may have. I provide guidance for students at any stage of the writing process and also provide them mentorship on how to manage the challenging courses offered in James Madison.

I officiate youth hockey games. This involves supervising all the participants and enforcing the rules of the game in order to facilitate a fair, competitive, and fun playing experience for all the players and coaches.

In this program, I am also a part of Jackson's award-winning customer care center. Taking a variety of phone calls, I often either identify customer needs and direct to the proper department or assist customers who are having difficulty navigating the Jackson.com website.

Load, scan, and deliver 100-200 packages per day. Navigate routes and ensure package processing information is always accurate and updated.
