I am Game Design and Development graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology. I have been been coding for about 7 years and has strong experience in C#, C++ as well as intermediate experience in half a dozen other languages. I have also been apart of the BSA for 15 years and have been an Eagle Scout since January of 2019. Why do I want to be a game developer? to answer that I have to take you back to 2011. Growing up on a farm most mornings and late evenings were filled with hard work during the summer. Despite the hard work its some of my fondest memories, because every night my sister and brother would play some new indie game they picked up for the PS2 or PS3 and speed-run it. meanwhile my other brother and I would giggle and crack jokes from the side and yell at my brother to "PUNCH THAT GUY!" or "DON'T SNEAK GO ALL IN!" suffice to say it was a very nice bonding time for my siblings and I. Over that summer I saw how games were able to connect people, how something as simple as a 2D character or a 3D environment can immerse a family and tightly bond us. Today I am a game developer seeking to bring that same joy and wonder to others. I love making games that have basic mechanics that give players freedom. Specifically giving the player different routes for actions, for me the best way I can do that is working as a gameplay engineer. With the skills as a gameplay engineer I am able to make toys for my coworkers to build better games with. As a bonus I can create well structured architecture that lets the player choose their own adventure with every action they take.Making games is what I love, I love creating systems and toys for others to play with. Seeing my work being enjoyed by others is what drives me to work harder because I know what I am doing matters. One of my favorite quotes of all time is "Sometimes the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else." -Uncle Iroh. Whenever I get stuck on something, or have to stop, I remember how far I've come and what my purpose is. I am in this to help others, it is who I am and it is who I am going to be until the day I put down the computer.
