About Logan Crow

Logan Crow is an avid and lifelong enthusiast of the art of cinema. He has applied this passion to the formation of two institutions - the non-profit Santa Ana-based independent art house theater The Frida Cinema, which offers eclectic cinematic and live event fare year-round, and the Long Beach-based organization Long Beach Cinematheque, which programs a series of outdoor classic film screenings at historic Sunnyside Cemetery. Logan was also the founder of the popular Los Angeles classic/cult cinema website MondoCelluloid.com, a founding Board Member of the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, and launched the record-breaking annual event Zombie Walk Long Beach. He is a writer and syndicated film critic, with hundreds of reviews and interviews published in various websites and publications, as well a community event planner. Logan also currently serves as a Board Member of Orange County LGBT Pride.Logan is a 2012 alumni of Leadership Long Beach, a program that annually identifies and develops a select group of principled Long Beach leaders. In 2012 Logan was heralded as one of Long Beach's "40 Under 40", a select group of 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are acknowledged for their positive impact on the Long Beach community, as selected by the Long Beach Post.In 2014, The Frida Cinema was honored as OC Weekly Reader's Choice Winner for Best Indie Movie Theater in Orange County. At present, Logan is hard at work continuing to cement The Frida Cinema's position as the premier destination for cinephiles in Orange County, and to ensure programming that continues to accomplish its mission of Enriching, Connecting, and Educating Communities Through the Art of Cinema.

The Frida Cinema is Orange County's only independent, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit film theatre dedicated to enriching, connecting, and educating communities through the art of cinema. We meet that mission with curatorial programming focused on independent, foreign, and documentary cinema; by curating special events that incorporate film with live music and multimedia art; by collaborating with independent organizations and theatres in shared community events; by supporting with collaborative screenings the efforts and dreams of student filmmakers; and by welcoming guest speakers such as filmmakers and film historians to speak to audiences as part of their cinematic experience. Programming beyond our four walls includes the Sunnyside Cemetery summer classic film series; CineMOLAA (in collaboration with Museum of Latin American Art); Watch this Book; and educational screening lectures to organizations such as senior citizen-focused Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
