As a new and upcoming Environmental Science major, I am seeking opportunities that connect me closer to my peers and the department. I would like to participate in clubs like DIG, E3, and Unravel when I spend more time on campus. Broadening my horizons with the larger sustainability community will allow me to make more informed decisions about my course trajectory. I’m enthusiastic about all things sustainability! I’ve spent my summers on the family farm connecting with nature. I’ve learned how to read animal tracks, how to distinguish a seed head out of any grain, and how to harvest potatoes.In my academic career, I have built foundational research and conversational skills. Working with a small cohort of students in a reproductive immunology lab at Utah State introduced me to basic lab etiquette and terminology. Through winning First Place in the Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair and Second Place in the California State Science Fair, I learned how to market myself professionally in a competitive scene.I feel I bring a unique perspective to STEM. I have some experience in hydrology, biomedical engineering, and environmental science. Competing in science fairs at the county and state levels offered me insight into the wealth of possible careers in the scientific community.
