I have studied emergency administration and planning since 2015 and have developed an in-depth competency of producing research and product on a multitude of subject matter including critical infrastructure, public vulnerabilities, exposures risk, mitigation and prepared tactics, public policy, and practice. I have also studied the biological and geographic sciences extensively, this includes a competency in Anatomy & physiology, micro/molecular biology, chemistry, laboratory etiquette and skills, and Geographic information systems. Additionally I have a minor in Journalism from the Mayborn School of Journalism, through these studies I have developed the skills needed to effectively communicate to the public on both local and mass scale, to ethically acquire and disseminate information that is concise, accurate and useful to its readers.With these skills I believe I have effectively prepared myself to pin point, prepare for, develop mitigation policy, inform the public about, and provide legitimate means for recovery in the event of anything from minor emergencies to catastrophic disasters. That being said I also have experience in several different industries both part time and full time. In high school I worked as a life guard for four years at multiple levels of leadership, this is where I developed my love for emergency management and first skill sets directly preparing me for the industry including preparedness, mitigation, response, coordination, and communication. This is also where i received my first experience as a team leader. I worked full time as a jeweler, where I developed better skills in work load management, reliability, and attention to detail. Throughout my five years studying at UNT I have been working part time as a team manager at a local Denton restaurant where I have honed many of the for mentioned skills , most of all my ability to effectively communicate and manage a diverse group of employees and customers, as well as developing my confidence in working without supervision or direction.Following receiving my undergraduates degree and starting my additional education I have found myself with the desire to work more directly with the data surrounding the peers I've studied so hard to protect, as well as missing the lab setting. Thus I am seeking a job as a laboratory technician within the medical industry so i can better understand the trends operating within the field.
