Cityblock Health aims to build a scalable solution to address the root causes of health for underserved urban populations. We partner with provider organizations, health plans, community social services agencies and communities themselves to ensure Medicaid and lower-income Medicare beneficiaries have access to high-value, readily available personalized health services. To do this, we will apply leading-edge care models that fully integrate primary care, behavioral health, and social services. And we will use our custom-built technology to enhance strong relationships between members and care teams, while simultaneously empowering and incentivizing the health system to do better.

Helped incubate Care Lab—an urban health initiative that spun out as Cityblock Health in October 2017.

Managed a small group of developers and lead various feature work across the entire stack. A couple of recent notable projects include:- Learn IDE: a cloud-based, cross-platform development environment that lets students skip the daunting process involved in getting their machines ready for coding. This involved JavaScript on the front end to Elixir and Go on the back end, combined with related infrastructure work in Chef.- Analytics framework: a robust system for ensuring tens of thousands of analytics events get sent to various platforms which drives our lead scoring.

Worked on the Learn.co platform, bringing it from a small, internal tool to a full-featured, external product. This involved working at all levels of the application stack, from building real-time lights that inform users of progress to a continuous integration server that runs concurrent student builds in seconds.Of particular note, I lead the front-end integration and back-end work for our initial in-app chat system that we built in concert with a contractor.

Gave lectures, ran lab reviews, and wrote curriculum during the January-June 2014 Web Development Immersive cohort. Helped to bring students from very little to no programming experience to employable developers.
