As Media Engagement Coordinator for the City of Asheville, I plan and execute communication programs across multiple platforms to inform and involve the community in local government decisions and initiatives. With over a decade of experience in political communications and earned media strategy, I have a passion for creating and delivering impactful messages that resonate with diverse audiences and advance social justice causes.In my current role, I manage, schedule, and produce virtual and hybrid meetings, including live broadcasts of City Council meetings. I also advise project managers and other staff on communications best practices, and help develop and manage the city's online engagement strategy, including training programs for City staff. Previously, I built an in-house media relations operation from the ground up for a national political organization, and helped generate over $25 million in earned media value for a statewide advocacy group.
