Promoted to manager in October 2020. Led a distributed team that was responsible for all product development at Mixmax. The team hit its uptime, support, and velocity goals consistently. Starting in June 2021, co-led the engineering department. Set OKRs for engineering and collaborated cross-functionally with other department heads. Hired 4 new teammates in Europe, South America, and Africa.

Promoted to senior software engineer in February 2020. Acted as tech lead for the team working on Mixmax’s automation features and integrations. Set the technical roadmap, collaborated with PMs on the product roadmap, and led architecture and implementation of a complex new backend service.

Worked as a full-stack engineer, adding new features across Mixmax's product. Owned the Sequences dashboard, completely rewriting its frontend and making many backend additions. Third most active contributor all-time to Mixmax’s frontend. Wrote the company code of conduct, designed interview questions, and established the biannual engineering culture survey.

Teaching Assistant for Discrete Mathematics (Fall 2016) and Data Science (Spring 2017). Consulted on team projects, helped with course design, held additional teaching hours, and graded assignments.

Wrote Python (Flask and SQLAlchemy) and Javascript (React, ES6 and CoffeeScript) code to power an open-source, extensible mail client and its backend mailsync software.On the backend, redesigned the authentication flow for N1 and the Nylas Sync Engine to enable users with custom IMAP and SMTP domains to use N1, resolving Nylas’ #1 Github issue. Reimplemented billing code, including patching multiple revenue-sapping bugs.On the frontend, added a PGP Encryption extension to the Nylas N1 mail client. Feature was presented to VCs, announced to >10,000 email subscribers, and written up in several different tech magazines and websites.

Wrote Python (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Django, and Statsmodels) to analyze neurological data collected from professional athletes for training and evaluation.Built a new model for the evaluation of neurological skill development over time based on measured read-and-react responses. Results are currently in use by Major League Baseball teams.Wrote tools for non-data-science-proficient staff to explore databases and identify key performance indicators in XML data, enabling future dynamic feature selection.

Wrote two weekly technical articles for SB Nation's Mariners blog Lookout Landing. Content focused on advanced statistical analysis, with occasional creative writing and computer programming pieces. Consulted with Major League front office members and gave input on player rankings for the Strat-O-Matic game.

Operated laser cutters, 3-axis mills, 2-axis lathes, and various other tools. Trained other students in the use of advanced machinery, designed public workspaces, and maintained machine shop equipment.

Piloted, maintained, and processed data from UH's IMI120 seafloor mapping towfish system.

Used IGOR Pro to process images of seafloor cores in search of evidence for Milankovitch Cycles.
