I manage a $1,033,200 grant contract from NC DHHS to provide intensive family preservation services in a 10 county region in Eastern North Carolina. Providing clinical and administrative supervision to a team of 6 IFPS specialists. I oversee grant compliance, reporting, and billing to the NC DHHS as required . Additionally, I engage in outreach and relationship-building initiatives to support the IFPS program and the greater goals of Coastal Horizons.

Contracted to provide instruction to MSW and BSW students within the East Carolina University School of Social Work compliant with Council of social work education standards and the NASW Code of ethics. Goal to prepare the next generation of social workers for the realities of the profession and with the skills and resources needed to thrive.I am currently teaching a BSW Field Practicum Course.

I am an Intensive Family Preservation Specialist, providing crisis intervention services through in-home family therapy, case management, and concrete support services to families with children at-risk of out-of-home placement by Child Protective Services. I utilize a strength-based, person-centered, integrative theoretical approach that draws from Attachment Theory, SFBT, ACT, Family Systems Theory, CBT, MBSR and others.

As a member of the Alternative Services team at WCDSS: I complete walk-in crisis assessments, provide solutions-focused interventions to families in crisis, determine eligibility for crisis assistance programs, make referrals to intra-agency and inter-agency resources and programs, and help families develop long term plans for self-sufficiency. In addition I provide non-cash assistance employment case management to families at 200% of poverty and bellow where a parent or caregiver is either unemployed or underemployed. Our team also manages the Job Center, provides Domestic Violence and Family Planning Counseling, runs a Career readiness classI engage in strengths focused, collaborative work, designed to give families appropriate tools and connect them with the resources they need to be self-sufficient.
