At Upturn I research how technologies impact core civil rights protections across society. This work takes many forms. I've led multiple major research reports, published in law reviews, written amicus briefs submitted to courts across the country, and led large coalitions of civil rights civil rights and social justice groups. My work regularly involves in-depth collaboration with academics, civil rights advocates, and other researchers.

A&O Productions is Northwestern University's largest student group and has provided large-scale, quality entertainment to Northwestern's students since 1969. Responsible for managing an over $500,000 budget to book and produce concerts, comedy, lectures and film series that aim to engage the student body and Northwestern community. Further responsible for managing and leading an executive board of 12 members and a general board of 70 members.• Led largest student group on campus, responsible for all major entertainment programming including concerts, speakers, films, and special events.• Oversaw $500,000+ operational budget that generated annual events attendance of 11,000+ and the highest revenue return of any group.• Managed all projects and operations of 70-person staff including talent buying, production, and marketing.• Restructured Promotions and New Media committees into one Marketing & Media committee to overhaul and streamline marketing campaigns across platforms.• Led effort to completely redesign organization's website to better communicate promotional messages online, as well as improve organizational and institutional transparency to further increase brand recognition.

• Performed research and prepared memos regarding current and potential exoneration cases.• Researched and analyzed briefs, appellate decisions, evidentiary materials, and precedents of past wrongful convictions cases, then prepared summaries of cases for future book project and articles.• Spearheaded retroactive analyses of rejected cases where defendants were later represented by other parties and exonerated in order to evaluate systemic trends and recommend both areas of improvement and potential policy changes.

• Researched the militarization of the War on Drugs during the Nixon-Reagan administrations for Professor Michael Sherry’s forthcoming book, "Go Directly To Jail: The Punitive Turn in American Life"• Compiled, critically analyzed, and summarized over 300+ historical documents to evidence thematic arguments• Utilized qualitative and quantitative methods to present findings in research papers and speeches • Performed comparative data analysis on national polling throughout the 1980s

• Managed entire production of Dillo Day, the largest student-produced music festival in the nation.• Led 10-person production committee throughout the year and 70-person student crew on the day-of.• Reorganized and decentralized committee structure, meetings, and assignments to increase access to institutional knowledge as well as emphasize organizational transparency and accountability.• Member of Executive Board responsible for $200,000+ operational budget, personally liable for all event coordination, and logistics.

• Streamlined and performed casework from intake, development, research and closure. Worked closely with DVAP employees, lawyers, clients, and judges throughout the greater DFW-area. • Learned and utilized Legal Server on a daily basis.• Assisted in drafting and summarizing legal documents.• Assisted in local outreach clinics in South and East Dallas, as well as at the VA Hospital in Dallas. Conducted client interviews, income screening, and reviewed documentation.
