Regarding my print bona fides, for two years prior, I plied AP style as a copy editor at The State, a McClatchy daily in Columbia, South Carolina with an audited circulation of 228,000. While on the desk, I gained considerable, deadline-oriented experience with the myriad roles a modern editor must play: national wire editor, in-house assigning editor, web content editor, layout/pagination editor, social media editor, etc.

Before my time in newsrooms, as a classically-trained musician, myself, I was the director of operations for a 501(c)(3), League of American Orchestras member symphony with an annual operating budget in excess of $2 million (much of which was acquired via grantwriting that I initiated). Here, I contracted musicians and stage personnel, brokered with not-for-profit PROs (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) and publishing houses, maintained and curated the music library, annotated program notes and managed the Long Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra.
