PresidentPhi Chi Theta Business & Economics Fraternity Jan 2014 - Jan 2015Carrollton, Tx, UsPhi Chi Theta is the largest business fraternity on campus at Ohio University. Immediately upon my initiation to the fraternity, I had an urge to challenge myself and test my leadership capacity. With no executive experience within the fraternity and only an Active of the Semester award to show, I ran for and was elected president of the organization after just one semester of being active. My description as president consisted of continuously motivating our members to better themselves as well as the organization, lead weekly executive meetings that were focused around maintaining organizational structure as well as continuous innovation, and also retain relationships with other organizations in the college of business. During my tenure we introduced a new rush sequence, new voting system, and took lead on a charitable cause called #UnionStreetStrong in which we sold t-shirts to raise money and awareness for the fire that took place on Union Street, for which we received recognition from the Columbus Dispatch and the Athens Post. -
Number Fest Regional ManagerPrime Social Group Jan 2011 - Jan 2015One of my biggest passions in life is music, and when I was a freshman at Ohio University, I had a vision to spread the music I love by putting on concerts throughout campus. I spent nights in my dorm scouting new and affordable talent while also looking for investments in my dream. Eventually through my work, I stumbled upon a company called Prime Social Group, and my endeavors took a turn for the best. Half way into my freshman year I started interning for the small company in Columbus, OH, a company that puts on concerts all over the nation. My goal was to bring them into the Athens market, but after working closely with management, I was told that Athens wasn't a suitable market because the town lacked venues to put on shows. Discouraged, I was still passionate about my dream and continued to pursue my vision. During this time, there was a privately owned music festival in the town called The Number Fest, which was notorious for it's popular brand amongst students but lacked the capital to bring in A list talent. It was at that time I had the idea for PSG to partner up with the fest to bring them into the market. PSG was able to bring capital funding to a music festival that needed it to grow, while also being able to merge with an already established and successful brand, eliminating risk to enter into the new market. The partnership has since then been a success, and after the deal took place I was appointed to be Regional Manager of the fest. In the four years of my tenure, we have entirely rebranded the fest, increased attendance more than 2x, and have been recognized by Billboard as the largest college music festival in the nation. My job description included managing a team of sales reps to an aggregate $50,000+ each year, conduct market research of the area, and establish/maintain relationships with all selling partners in the area.http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/code/6457986/number-fest-2015-diplo-schoolboy-q-makonnen-lineup-exclusive -
