The NorCal Design Center is a California newspaper production hub of Digital First Media that lays out 12 daily newspapers along with a various weekly newspapers, producing more than 1,400 pages total per week. I started working as a designer in 2014 at the launch of the Design Center as one of 8 superusers for the new content management system and redesign of all of the company newspapers in the area. I provided key input into the creation of the policies and procedures that govern the design hub today. I was quickly promoted to News Team Leader and Weekend Supervisor and I now lead a staff of 24 designers in the creation, editing, and submission of over 200 pages nightly on more than a dozen separate deadlines, ensuring each publication deadline is met and pages are error-free and of good design quality. I completed at 10-week internship at the Kentucky New Era working as a general assignment reporter. I covered breaking news, community stories and the police beat.
