The Indiana Center for Emerging Technologies champions high-growth tech startups and drives the creation of high-skill jobs in Southwest Indiana.We help Indiana startups and industry research, evaluate, and validate the market potential of emerging technologies. These startups, industry leaders, and research labs can collaborate to launch new growth ventures and create spinoffs.Our Evansville, IN team and network supports regional startups and entrepreneurs in emerging tech. We serve as a resource center for startups and industry leaders to explore collaborations between academia, government research agencies, and Indiana manufacturers.We believe there are potentially thousands of talented individuals spread across Southwest Indiana with ambitions to launch a high-growth venture. These includes A) Those with their own inventions, ideas, and concepts; B) Those who aspire to launch a tech-enabled venture but lack the patented technology to do so; and C) Those that can license a specific technology to enhance and improve viability of their product or system. Our team will serve potential entrepreneurs in these domains with ambitions to take the proper steps in determining if they have the suitable expertise, product/market fit, financial means, and time commitment required to launch a tech-enabled venture.Additionally, our Center works with regional and statewide industry to identify challenges and obstacles that can potentially be overcome through technology innovations. This can potentially lead to internal spinoff companies and improvements in existing business lines.

Circular Venture Lab is a national 501c(3) non-profit based in Evansville, Indiana. We help to create and test new products, systems, and services in the circular economy. Our cities, states, and regions face challenges in natural resources, water and energy use, and waste management that can be solved through reuse, redesign, recovery, repurposing, and recycling. We’re skilled at taking an initial idea, researching potential solutions thoroughly, and taking steps to build a venture around the idea.Since 2021, Circular Venture Lab has been funded through four different grant awards through the U.S. Department of Energy's American-Made Program, and through the Small Business Adminstraion's Growth Accelerator Fund Competition.

I've worked in multiple capacities with the core team since 2019. In December of 2022, Voice Life acquired my Sheridan, WY graphene and advanced materials firm, Pheneovate. As part of the acquisition terms, I joined Voice Life as an Executive supporting their product development. My work in advanced carbon materials and the global energy sector, coupled with over three years working with the Voice Life management team, provides the company with a knowledgeable leader to further develop the wireless charging system and components.

I started with Youtily in San Diego on Day 1. We were made up of five teams – Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Strategy, and Operations. Every single day was full of challenges, but more importantly, they were full of laughter, inside jokes, and bad puns. I had the pleasure of working closely with each member in every team - recent grads, multinationals, analysts, seasoned sales pros, designers and data crunchers. I loved working with each and every member of our teams. I learned more about myself, business operations, and the people I met here than any position I've had in the past.

My time with the company was critical in providing the foundation for my career in Sales, Marketing, and Business Operations. Initially began at Batky-Howell in 2005 as an Account Executive for their subsidiary, IT Courseware. This role evolved to the Business Development Manager position at the parent company in March of 2008. In this role, I located and proposed potential business deals to their current client list of Dow 30 and Fortune 500 companies. I was responsible for organizing potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials.Developed negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of potential new ventures with company strategies and operations, examining risks and potentials, and estimating partners' needs and goals.This role was very unique as I worked with a subsidiary for three-plus years, then worked with the parent company and subsidiaries for the next three years. Our business strategy shifted extremely as a result of a severe downturn in 2009. I saw the company shrink from 50 full time employees to just eight in less than six months, and was fortunate enough to stay on and watch the company grow again until departing.
