I compiled data on each student to help chart their growth and progress. I also improved student behavior through redirection and utilizing my training in conscious discipline. I taught small groups each day whether it be the low, mid range, or above range learners. I worked one on one with students to improve their growth.

Each summer I nanny for an 8 year old boy. Each day we take 30 minutes of our day to work on our reading. We also work on math each day whether it be completing math worksheets or playing board games requiring math.

As a substitute teacher I met each student with a smiling face. Each day-no matter the length- I strived to know each students name before lunch time. This was important to me because it demonstrated to the students that I was there to support them, encourage them, and teach them. I completed each lesson plan according to the teacher. I also had great classroom management and always kept the students on task. For one struggling student I created an individual behavior plan which was an expectation chart. With each transition the student had the opportunity to give himself a stamp if he met all expectations. He was also expected to make those decisions with teacher guidance. This eliminated behaviors for the student. As a substitute I also left notes to the teacher explaining how the day went and any issues that arose.

Central, South Carolina

I received a Track and Field scholarship to Southern Wesleyan University. I competed in the 4x400 meter relay, the 400 meters, the 200 meter, the heptathlon, the 4x800 meter relay, the 800 meter, and the 400 meter hurdles. I competed at the NAIA National Championship. In the 4x400 we were the runner-up at the NCCAA National Championship. I was also apart of the inaugural track and field class at Southern Wesleyan University. I also am the current record holder in the 4x400 meter relay and the 4x800 meter relay.

Jonesboro, Arkansas

I received a scholarship from Arkansas State University for the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay.
