As a Mechanical Engineering Student at the University of British Columbia, I'm fascinated by the dynamic world of engineering and its endless possibilities. I'm pursuing a degree that combines creativity and problem-solving, two of my core values and strengths.I'm currently working as a Mechanical Sub-Team Member with UBC Sustaingineering, a student-led organization that develops sustainable solutions for energy-deficient communities. There, I created a design concept for a Savonius vertical axis wind turbine, tailored to coastal areas. I also utilized bearings to develop a specialized timing belt system, ensuring efficient energy generation. I employed 3D printing, laser-cutting, and waterjet cutting to prototype components for a test rig. These experiences have enhanced my skills in machine design, SOLIDWORKS, and prototyping.I have also gained valuable insights into the collaborative spirit of engineering through various projects and initiatives. For example, I worked on a mass production assembly machine in Shanghai, where I learned the importance of effective communication and teamwork. I also led a project to construct a Magnetic Levitating Device, where I applied my knowledge of electromagnetism and circuit design.I'm always eager to learn from and connect with professionals and peers who share a passion for engineering and innovation. I'm excited to explore new opportunities and challenges that will help me grow as an engineer and a leader.
