Clemson Welcome Week is meant to provide incoming freshmen with an experience that not only familiarizes them with the campus and tools at their disposal through the university, but also facilitates building strong friendships with their peers through activities. As Activities Chair, it is my responsibility to work with my team to coordinate contracts with vendors for individual events and contact campus organizations to ensure no scheduling conflicts and maximum attendance. Within the Welcome Week Executive team, it is essential to be able to communicate between the different teams to provide freshmen with a smooth and social experience when they arrive in August.

As a server, I utilized my strengths in multi-tasking, communication, and customer service to provide the customers with a pleasurable dining experience. I also played a role in providing banquet services to large groups of customers. In this position it was my responsibility to provide the same level of service, while also providing the customer with a strong sense of privacy, whether for professional or social purposes. This role required strong communication between the servers, banquet coordinators, customers, and kitchen staff so as to ensure all the courses were presented at the right time and any banquet specific tasks could be completed while still preserving the dining experience for the customers.
