Arete is a novel, independent journal based in Houston that aims to promote free speech, intellectual freedom of thought, and civil political discourse surrounding divisive issues. The journal aims to publish articles from a wide range of ideological perspectives. As the founder, I have worked towards establishing an editorial board, establishing funding, and creating initial outreach.

I was in a year-long research fellowship. This project involved a close collaboration with Professor Cremins, a faculty member of the Honors College. My research focused on a detailed examination of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, exploring its themes and implications through an interdisciplinary lens.

• Worked in the national policy department focusing on issues pertaining to government overreach and individual rights• Created case reports on "hot button" issues; did background research into legislation, cases, and statues; and assisted various research fellow's with their work

• My research primarily focused on medieval philosophy of religion, specifically Aquinas and Anslem’s proofs for the existence of God• This research includes a significant amount of time analyzing classical literature, synthesizing that such work with contemporary scholarly sources, and examining proofs through an axioms-based approach

• Worked with Dr. Church, chair of the political science department, to analyze political rhetoric through the lens of Plato’s Gorgias• My work loosely focused on understanding political oration as the intentional epistemic manipulation of truth and how that such fact can be applied to our highly polarized current political climate• Received grant funding to undertake this research
