My daily task is preparing news script. The most important skill is knowing what to present the public. To do that, I begin looking for the current news that affects the people specifically Malaysian throughout the world. The source text would be either in English or Malay. Since I am responsible to create the script for Tamil Radio News, I translate the important content to Tamil. Over here, I am trained to use the simple and easy words that all class of people can understand. At some point, I will need to introduce new words to the listeners. In order to make it easy, I will add in the english word next to the new Tamil word. For example திருகூர்தி=drone. Then, once the script is prepared I will arrange them in the approved folder for the review of the reader. The arrangement of the news, begins from local to international then,sports updates. The international news is chosen based on the significance. For example, weather, election, policy agreement, war, leaders speech and their travels. Sports is usually the current update of the results and announcements. Once the script is prepared and reader has verified, then it goes on air.For special occasions that are related to Tamil community and national (election,budget), I interview the pioneers of the field. Once the recording is received I transfer and prepare our own script, name it special folders. For budget and election, I have to update the script on time with accurate details.
