Loïc Bertoli holds a degree in Law from the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg and a Master in Political Science/International Relations from the Université Sorbonne-Panthéon in Paris. Loic Bertoli is fluent in English, French, Italian, German and Luxembourgish. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Bertoli worked at the Department for International Economic Relations of Luxembourg’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he was in charge of foreign trade promotion. In 2005, he joined the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade where he was appointed as Deputy Director for Trade and Investment Promotion in charge of implementing the overall strategy to promote Luxembourg’s exports and companies abroad. In 2012, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Mr. Bertoli as Deputy Head of Mission at the Luxembourg Embassy in Beijing where he worked for four years. Since 2016, Mr. Bertoli is Deputy Head of Mission at the Luxembourg Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Executive Director of the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Abu Dhabi. In addition to his roles, he was nominated by the government Deputy Commissioner General for the Luxembourg at the Expo 2020 Dubai. In Luxembourg, Loïc Bertoli has been a member of the Consultative Committee on Foreign Trade, of the Luxembourg Board of Economic Development, member of the board of the Luxembourg Real Estate Company of the Exhibitions Parks (owning the Luxembourg Trade Fairs Center), member of the governing body of the Luxembourg Agency for Development Aid as well as the Luxembourg Agency for Financial Technology Transfer (ATTF). Prior to his posting to China, he has also served as Vice President of the Luxembourg Martial Arts Federation and member of the Luxembourg Olympic Committee. Mr. Bertoli holds the rank of Officer in the Order of the Polar Star of Sweden and the rank of Officer of Oranje-Nassau.
