Gumtree is the most successful classifieds portal in the UK.After 6 months of experience in Gumtree, I became a technical lead for the apps team. I was in charge of the developments of gateway services between Gumtree apps and backend services.In September 2020, I became the technical lead for the team developing the peer to peer payments solution in Gumtree. I am in charge of the architecture of this solution, its scalability and its general quality. As well as the communication with our payment provider. It is also the first time this solution is implemented for high value items (cars) in Europe, for a classifieds portal.During this experience, I am also participating in improving the deployment pipeline and the monitoring of our micro services. I also greatly helped to improve the quality of all tests written in Gumtree.Finally, I am also leading more junior developers, for them to keep a better focus on SOLID principles, and to write cleaner code, for both production code and tests.
