Year 1:• Did a full hardware and software network revamp as local network speed would fluctuate between 10-40 Mbps (outbound around 4Mbps). Many loopbacks and bottlenecks were found. Fixed everything so speed was full Gigabit and implemented network based IPS, Web filter, Antivirus and DNS filter. • Setup new Active Directory environment and migrated all computers and servers from Windows Server 2003 / Windows XP/NT to Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10. • Setup Remote Desktop Services farm with high redundancy, Windows Server DNS, DHCP, Print farm and everything centrally managed and automated with Group Policies.• Identified systems that were unnecessarily dependent on legacy hardware and systems such as programs that could only communicate via serial ports and custom communication protocols. Found ways to remove our dependencies on as many as possible while using standard communication protocols to make systems as resilient as possible.• Organised and cleaned IT space / server room.
