Deacon Trust is a Christian organisation that provides education (NZQA registered) to support mental health in the community. It trains mental health support workers who graduate with a formal qualification (Deacon Training Academy) and provides education in community settings (HeartSpace and HeadSpace). The Trust’s overall goal is to increase awareness and understanding of mental health issues and help close the gap in existing services.Reporting to the Board, the role of Manager is to lead the operations of the organisation, maintain and develop community relationships as well as contribute to future growth.

Responsible for the full range of HR functions, for the Customer Services Group of PGG Wrightson, a total of 1200 staff. This was made up of the Rural Supplies stores, Fruitfed and Livestock businesses, as well as the Commercial Group, Marketing/Strategy and Supply Chain.

This combined an HR management function, with operational management responsibilities, including managing the support services team and overseeing the Christchurch Science Centre.
