In this role I led the influential 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide. It was the first successful overhaul of the State’s metropolitan planning strategy since the 1960’s and received national recognition as the most advanced integrated Australian city plan.I managed the SA Planning and Development Fund and oversaw the Department’s strategic research, building regulation and Geographic Information System (GIS) functions. This included state demographic projections, creation of new development plan policies, management of the SA Planning Policy Library and improvement of land-use sustainability approaches.

In this role I worked on the Regional Forest Agreements in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland. I led the design and implementation of social impact assessments and research methodology.Reporting to Social and Economic Technical Committee, I consulted widely across regional and timber communities to determine social impacts of the agreements. This role included the selection and management of consultants for economic and social research while providing advice to government and stakeholders about forest reserve design.
