Profile bio

About Lois Williams

My mission is to empower generations of marginalized communities and workers through the development of abolitionist-centered, holistic, sustainable frameworks in community building and collective power. I am an experienced student community organizer, researcher, and clinical coordinator, leading successful and on-going programs such as Stanford’s CopsOffCampus campaign, Public Safety Week, Queer Liberation Weekend, and antiracist and sexual violence workshops. My studies at Stanford University in Human Biology as well as my work in the Bay Area with unhoused populations, youth, and justice-impacted marginalized groups further developed my skills in trauma-informed care, needs assessment, and project development with creative solutions. I have 5+ years of experience working directly in communities, including in teaching roles for underserved elementary-aged students, community outreach, mental health programming and in clinical settings. I am skilled in creating strategic programs by leveraging diverse research tools in order to answer critical social and clinical community problems. I am trained in understanding the collective beginning from the individual: How do we liberate ourselves starting from the body? How does trauma-informed care extend to the community and workplace? I am seeking positions that intersect community healing, campaign/program development, and direct action.
