My responsibilities at include:- Manage activities and initiatives of Qatar Center for AI (QCAI) and lead the work on ethics and governance of AI- Develop and manage research commercialization initiatives and opportunities at QCRI - Co-authored the "National AI Strategy for Qatar" - Development of annual business plans for QCRI to secure its funding and monitoring/reporting progress on it.- Coordinated the development of strategic plan for research at QCRI and HBKU- Member of group that developed innovation strategy and plan for Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)

Developed, launched and managed following funding programs at QNRF:- Qatar Innovation Promotion Award: An initiative similar to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) for commercialization of research in Qatar.- Challenge 22: To support and nurture innovative business ideas from MENA region that align well with thematic areas of development in Qatar related to 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. - Conferences & Workshops Sponsorship Program: To promote knowledge transfer, networking and collaboration with researchers worldwide and in Qatar. - Qatar-UK Research Networking Program: To promote research collaborations between UK and Qatar. This program was in partnership with British Council.

Founded nDimensions, a political and social enterprise consulting firm promoting meaningful changes through the use of technology and data science for building sustainable models of development and by aligning incentives of politicians with real development impact. Started GBF’s India Operations and investments and then worked to build and manage GBF’s investment portfolio and relationships in India. I also assessed technology based startups around the globe in GBF’s investment pipeline.

Worked with the Grassroots Business Initiative team in Washington DC to help launch a spin-off social VC / impact fund called Grassroots Business Fund (GBF) and then joined GBF after that.

A social venture for financial inclusion of poor using mobile phones and small retailers as the delivery channel for banking services - Developed a business plan and the operations plan for piloting the model - Designed a self-learning model for social relationships based credit rating - Built a team, secured technology partners and worked towards fundraising

Patent Board (ipIQ) is a pioneering company in IP Strategy, Patent analytics and Scientometrics serving Fortune 500 clients on IP strategy and government on measuring scientific outputs and trends e.g. NSF’s S&E Indicators I worked on developing new indicators for NSF to better measure US scientific output, its evolution and complexity, and doing IP strategy work for their clients.

I conducted statistical analysis and evaluation of intellectual property strategies using patent indicators, text mining and non patent literature like news articles, due-diligence interviews, company reports and industry reports.

Worked for Tennenbaum Center, Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISyE) department (2006-07) for my thesis on “Modeling Market Value of Firms as a Function of the Quality of the Intellectual Property (IP) owned”.

Conducted pieces of research and analysis to support researchers working on various projects at NKC, which is a policy advisory body reporting directly to the Prime Minister of India on knowledge economy issues. These projects included, policies for innovation finance and entrepreneurship support in India, design of a survey to measure innovation and perceptions towards innovation in Indian market, improvements in intellectual property regime in India, and a telecommunication network plan for connecting all universities in India by broadband.

Assisted the authorities in setting up of Knowledge-Hub (K-Hub) a Business Incubator/Accelerator service at ISB, Hyderabad. Conducted due-diligence and evaluated technology business plans received for assistance and funding.

Setting up of this non-profit business incubator, which involved tasks from writing the incorporation memorandum, funding proposals to planning and project management for the construction. Organized events to raise awareness, and assisted authorities to formulate operating policies, rules and regulations. Also conducted, technology and business plan evaluation. Enthused and helped people to start their ventures and networking with investors for such entrepreneurs.
