Research technology and Wildlife Conservation

· Providing guidance and assistance to Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association (MMWCA) on creation of business opportunities for its members, and this brought about employment of 3 under MMWCA, 12 rangers under six conservancies and creation of 12 women groups with average of 86 individuals each. This also saw 30% of individuals getting indirect employment out of this.· Lobbying coordinated and mobilized for national and international consultants and service providers, in close partnership with MMWCA, mainly in the field of action on business development services for wildlife conservancies, including the provision of training, the conduct of technical studies, and partnership development.· Conducting technical studies leading to the identification of alternative revenue sources for the sustainable development of conservancies and the creation of youth employment.· Guiding implementation and testing of existing capacity-building approaches, which scaled up income diversification by 40%.· Ensuring seamless linkage between fields of action 1 (support to lease payment) and 2 (governance improvement) of projects and related activities.· Ensuring regular collection of data and analysis which steered project activities towards achieving its indicators.· Coordinated and liaised regularly with other key partners in sector which brought about innovation, best practices, and wealth of knowledge in business arena.· Advising and facilitating capacity-building initiatives for conservancies staff and project partners on income diversification and in promotion of sustainable economic development and employment.

· Adjusted project plans to account for dynamic targets, this equipped project management staff with technical support and prompt advice.· Worked with conservation partners and senior managers through the organization and coordination of community meetings where we addressed human-wildlife conflict and came up with mitigation measures.· Involved in establishing an information-sharing system, that eased sharing of information and communication.· Ensured compliance with projects, and implementation of strategic policy frameworks/protocols relating to conservation, governance, and capacity building· This maintained tactical control of project budgets and timelines to keep teams on task and also helped in achieving scheduled targets.· Participated in knowledge management through conservation research, publication, and dissemination of scientific research.
