This is not a common Linkedin profile experience description but it is promising.Born in Eastern Europe, I grew up in Spain before moving to Australia. I am a mix of disciplined, high-energy professional with great Latin humor. I like challenging myself that's why this is my 3rd time at University studying something that I love. But this wasn't always the case. It took me many years to find what was ''my thing''. I started doing a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, thinking science was my life. After a very unhappy first year, I quit and despite my parents' disappointment in me, I decided to pursue a life of creativity. I applied for a bachelor's in Advertising and Public Relations, where I could unfold my first steps into the design process, communication and storytelling. I finished the degree but I wasn't sure that I wanted to do a master's degree at that time since I still wasn't finding ''my thing''. So, I decided to emigrate to Australia and start over again. Another disappointment for my parents.3 and half years ago, I came to Melbourne with no English, no job, no home, and $500 in my bank account. But I was convinced that this is going to work. Call me Tom Cruise if you want, because this mission was almost impossible. After a lot of work and sacrifices, I am currently a first-year student of Industrial Design at the Swinburne University of Technology. I'm in the process of learning everything I need to be good at it and READY to take on more challenges in my professional career. My skills in optimizing business processes for the past 9 years and implementing continuous improvement plans have equipped me with a strong foundation of communication and leadership skills. Some career highlights to date are:✨ Trained and mentored 50+ new and existing staff members across different industries on customer relationship management, product knowledge, and team building.✨I’m a proud founder of a social platform that teaches women self-defense skills to help them feel more secure in problematic situations. ✨ Volunteered as an international student mentor for newbies arriving in Melbourne by offering them mental health support and sharing the necessary steps to be able to build a new life in Australia. Currently, I am seeking a role within an organization that truly cares for its employees and their professional development. A place where I have the opportunity to utilize my research and design thinking skills and kick off my career in the design industry. If I sound like a good fit for your company, let's have a chat (lola.milcheva@gmail.com).
