Applications Development Manager
Current• Plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications• Oversee all design and development efforts; ensure that product released is sound and production ready • Ensure development resources adhere to the approved SDLC process • Apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide the development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems • Ensure team is estimating, planning, controlling, and executing projects properly within agreed upon timelines and within budget• Design solutions that maintain flexibility and future integration opportunities • Collaborate with IT Managers to find ways to continually improve IT process and delivery experience • Create and maintain application upgrade schedules for all production applications • Partner with Project Manager to define and measure development team activities, task estimates, and actuals for all projects • Accountable for ensuring requirements are correctly interpreted and transformed into software solutions that meet the business need • Accountable for managing and leading resources to deliver solutions within agreed upon budget and timeline • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, relationship building/relationship management and facilitation skills • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize as needed• Mentor engineers in the team and help grow talent in the team by hiring additional engineers• Carry out management responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
