As Vice President of Human Resource & Talent Engagement, Michael is responsible for providing leadership in the development and execution of strategies to create innovation and drive excellence in the organization. Michael oversees several key HR initiatives in the areas of organizational development, recruitment/retention, and employee wellness programs. In addition to human resource functions, Michael oversees the agency’s grant fund development strategy that has resulted in over $250+ million in federal, state and contracts across the United States. Prior to this role, Michael served as the Vice President for National Initiatives and oversaw the expansion of programming and services on the national level. Specifically, Michael led the national replication of the WorkPlace’s Platform to Employment (P2E) initiative. P2E is an innovative program designed to assist the long-term unemployed by helping them reenter the workforce and was featured on CBS’s 60 Minutes and other national media outlets. Prior to joining The WorkPlace, Michael worked for the City of Bridgeport where he was involved in economic and community development initiatives. Prior Michael was the Executive Director of a non-stock corporation in New Haven dedicated to creating linkages between local universities and community service providers. Michael holds a Master of Science in Urban Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
