Lonnie Pack is a Principal Structural Engineer with ten years of experience across the Infrastructure, Mining and Oil & Gas industries. Lonnie currently manages the Engineering department for the East Coast of Australia at Coffey, a Tetra Tech company.Lonnie is the author of the Australian Guidebook for Structural Engineers, a 500 page engineering textbook on steel, concrete and geotechnical engineering in accordance with Australian Standards. Lonnie worked as a design engineer at WorleyParsons from 2007 to 2014 and then at Coffey / Tetra Tech from 2014 to present. He has experience in management and in leading teams of over 20 engineers and drafters in the design of greenfield sites. Lead experience includes concurrently managing design teams in Australia and China and coordinating work-share between offices.Lonnie has a detailed level of knowledge in steel, concrete and geotechnical design. Past experience has included modular projects, providing knowledge of fabrication, lifting and transportation of steel frames. Lonnie was named as the subject matter expert for coal seam gas projects at WorleyParsons. He has a background in Finite Element Analysis and has a detailed level of understanding in dynamic design, which he has articulated in presentations given on the subject to the Institute of Structural Engineers.
