The Director leads the community engagement staff and contractors with the primary goal of establishing and strengthening community relationships, acting as an honest broker or liaison between the Austin Transit Partnership (ATP) and the community, and educating the community on the value of Project Connect and its integration with Capital Metro Services. This position develops and directs the design, implementation and operation of a comprehensive public involvement plan and interactive team to ensure the success of the Project Connect program by establishing and strengthening relationships with citizen groups, neighborhood associations, business leaders and the public-at-large on all matters related to the ATP; working collaboratively with Capital Metro and City of Austin staff and leadership; and representing the ATP’s position on a variety of service issues.

The Manager, Community and Business Partnerships is responsible for directing, devising, coordinating and overseeing the business outreach programs for the Austin Transit Partnership’s (ATP) capital projects, including, but not limited to, outreach required to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the federal grant process, for Project Connect’s light rail and MetroRapid projects. To ensure consistent and effective messaging, I designed and led an inter-departmental training program to familiarize 150+ staff members with the proposed routes changes and to elevate the quality of outreach through group activities that demonstrated best practices in community engagement and de-escalation techniques. • Created viral “Merry Shopper” video promotion for annual “Stuff the Bus” fundraiser for the Central Texas Food Bank.• Supported “Go Horns Go!” campaign to increase transit ridership among UT-Austin students by developing 15-sec video concepts, a Halloween bus costume guide and a UT Bucket List, showcasing 20 trips accessible by transit. • Managed the “Electric Last Mile” pilot, a $1M multi-sector mobility collaboration, funded by the Dept of Energy. • Honored by the Association for Commuter Transportation in 2019 for developing the Transit Adventures program
