In this role, I was primarily tasked with enhancing and expanding our Health product portfolio, driving adoption and retention for our subscription service, 23andMe+. This involved evaluating, selecting, and launching >40 new genetic reports on conditions in areas such as cardiovascular health, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.I also led several strategic 0→1 initiatives that go beyond genetics to offer our subscribers more comprehensive health insights. A notable example is “Health Tracks,” which combines a customer’s genetics with their self-reported lifestyle habits in order to produce a year-by-year risk curve for 3 health conditions. Our development process for this feature included internal prototyping and qualitative user research to ensure high comprehension and satisfaction upon launch.My work at 23andMe was done in concert with a large group of cross-functional stakeholders, including design, engineering, marketing, UXR, scientists/R&D, clinicians, regulatory affairs, and legal. I am well-versed in stakeholder management, navigating complex approval processes, and working in a regulated medical device environment.

I was tasked with developing 0→1 initiatives to expand Guidebook’s B2B2C offerings beyond their core use cases of events and conferences. My main project was “Campus Tours,” which allows universities to provide walking audio tours for prospective students on their campus during times when a regular tour is not available.I worked hand-in-hand with the sales team and our initial Campus Tours clients, University of Oregon and Santa Clara University, to gain feedback and successfully deploy the product on their campus.

• Led product development for Flashcards+, an iOS app acquired by Chegg in late 2013. Managed a complete rewrite and redesign, which has held a 4.5 star rating and reached the top 20 in Free Education apps.• Managed the development and evolution of the Chegg.com signed-out homepage, executing multiple tests and measuring against key metrics such as textbook conversion rate and “attach rate” (a measure of cross-promotion).• Transitioned the signed-in homepage from a static display of user books and courses into a dynamic feed which collects data, displays timely alerts to students, and cross-promotes new products and services.• Developed numerous pages, tests, and flows to collect data from Chegg.com students, including course collectionafter checkout, which was responsible for 1.8 million course associations every 6 months.• Played a key role in the team responsible for integrating Cramster.com into Chegg.com, including writing copy, gaining feature parity, and ensuring an on-schedule migration of hundreds of thousands of members.
