Throughout my career as an anesthesiologist, pain specialist, pulmonologist, internist and health care administrator I have been in a position to understand and implement healthcare compliance regulations. I have served as a compliance director for more than a decade. During this time, I developed and led several initiatives to insure a high level of compliance. I recognized that increasing government regulatory standards leave practices exposed to investigations or audits that may result in financial and civil penalties, litigation and removal from federal programs. I am certified in Healthcare Compliance and have completed training as a Medical Coding Specialist. Today, through the efforts of Anesthesia Compliance Consultants and HIPAA Associates we have played a role as a leader in federal and state health care regulation and compliance for hospitals, surgery centers, pain management and anesthesiology practices. I am now the Vice President of Operations at Anesthesia Compliance Consultants where I manage educational programming. We have helped create multiple compliance education programs for anesthesia practices dealing with compliance and coding. Our innovative work through Anesthesia Compliance Consultants brings together regulatory requirements, process and technology to improve client services. I also serve as Vice President of Operations at HIPAA Associates where I am responsible for social media and educational programming. I have been instrumental in the creation of HIPAA training programs and the highly successful HIPAA ABCs.I founded Surgi-Ready as a means of educating patients about the perioperative experience.
