Dr. Bailey is the lead research development expert at Virginia State University (VSU), working collaboratively with VSU faculty, administrators, and research partners, such as the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Wright Center, the VCU Health Massey Center, the United States Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, the American Institute for Research, Pre-K-12 Schools, Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other entities that support VSU's mission to enhance research development at VSU.

Manage all activities related to grants, budgeting, professional university-school partnerships, professional development, strategic planning, and community non-profit and for-profit development and fund raising project-based operations.

Dr. Lora Bailey is the Executive Director of Licensure and Accreditation for the VCU School of Education.In this role, I collect and report compliance data to state and federal agencies such as the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and state board of examiners. I develop program evaluation models to evaluate, report and improve program effectiveness, and lead college units and departments to enhance teaching and learning university-wide. I also direct human and financial resources to support institutional effectiveness, develop unit and university-wide budgets, and provide administrative and supervisory leadership to faculty and staff.I also currently serve as a member of the CAEP Accreditation Council and the National Review Board Team, which is chiefly responsible for reviewing and reaffirming CAEP accreditation for education units, nationwide and internationally. Dean and Professor of Early Childhood Education

During my tenure at Auburn University- Auburn Alabama, I served as an Associate Professor and directed the Early Childhood Education program. I also served on the AU-Auburn City Schools Professional Development School System to strengthen the PDSs ability to increase student learning for K-12 students, and improve teaching and learning for Auburn University education candidates.

I served as Assistant professor at USC-Columbia and garnered over $500,000 to investigate the impact on mathematics interventions for second and third grade children enrolled in high-needs schools. My research was widely disseminated and earned recognitions from NCTM that resulted in invited speaking engagements and was published in top tier journals. Relationships with my esteemed colleagues at USC have been sustained over the life of my career in higher education, and remain extremely important as I have matriculated into University administration.
