Filled in for my supervisor during his paternity leave: Oversaw 8 community residences, supporting their residential managers; was responsible for checking time sheets, driving records, petty cash records, residential expense reports, checking daily/monthly notes, interviewing and hiring direct support staff, and other duties. I assisted residential managers in coordinating outside services/supports for their residents, such as Community Integration or Job Coaching. Also continued to oversee more directly the home where I was manager, and assist the staff member who was filling in for me.

Managed resident affairs for 5 adults with developmental disabilities, including daily schedules, finances, medical & social needs; daily supervised 5-8 staff full-time staff. Each year, and for each resident, I was responsible to coordinate a planning meeting involving the resident, and any related service providers and involved friends/family members. Out of that meeting, I was responsible to write their annual report. This report was filed with the agency as well as with Regional Center, and was used by Regional Center to compare with all other records to determine that we were providing the supports we said we were and assisting residents in meeting their goals.Out of that responsibility, and directly connected, I was responsible for oversight of daily record-keeping, monthly and annual reports, petty cash & vehicle records; was responsible for encouraging resident independence and providing supports and high quality services, as well as encouraging resident personal development & supports for meeting their goals. Was primarily responsible for maintaining communication with family members of the residents, and coordinating family visits (short and extended), and keeping family updated and connected as possible.

LCA is a small private school, and at the time, was just getting started. My first year I taught elementary music, and elementary introduction to computers (primarily typing), and HS Computers (we covered a wide variety of subjects, including web design, presentations, etc). I developed all my curriculum for music classes throughout the year, and organized the annual Christmas program; the younger students sang and the older students performed as bell choir. The second year, I was responsible for 9-10 grade English, 6-8 grade Math, HS Consumer Math, 7-8 Science. I was responsible for lesson preparations, field trips, grading, parent-teacher conferences, coordinating with other teachers. I also oversaw several independent studies, including HS French, HS Spanish, and HS Art.
