The Export Licensing Unit issues around 13,000 licences for 55,000 objects each year to accompany sales and loans of cultural property leaving the UK. I was contributing to the effective running of this high volume statutory administrative function, which forms part of Museums and Cultural Property team at the Arts Council and delivers services on behalf of DCMS (the Department for Culture, Media and Sport). I was processing and issuing export licences within strictly defined timescales by carrying out data entry tasks, proofreading policy documents and acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
