ARC sponsors a voluntary examination to test the current core body of knowledge with an emphasis on public safety. The ARC voluntary exam emphasizes an aromatherapist’s knowledge of public safety issues and promotes the interests of the entire professional aromatherapy community by illustrating to regulatory bodies that the aromatherapy industry is sufficiently mature to self-regulate and does not need to be regulated from outside or above. ARC provides a public register of Aromatherapists who have demonstrated a core body of knowledge by successfully passing the examination and reregistering every five years. ARC enhances the credibility and visibility of aromatherapy to the public and other medical professionals. By demonstrating the aromatherapy industry’s commitment to safety standards and ethics, a greater degree of confidence is created in the value and safety of aromatherapy. As Chair of the ARC, duties include liaising with the Professional Testing Corporation for item reviews and new versions of the exam (and other matters), liaise with the attorney on any legal or disciplinary matters, coordinate an annual update of the Candidate Handbook, receive and distribute all schoolreports to the Public Relations Coordinator, coordinates maintenance of the school database, maintains trademarks, and coordinates the annual review.

ICAN is an international resource to connect, engage, and be part of a growing community of practitioners, educators, growers, distillers, researchers, and students. ICAN is a closed professional network offering access to articles, research, specialized groups, and education via both on and offline events. As a Fellow, I regularly interact with the ICAN platform and its users and contribute content to the platform (examples include submitting articles, product reviews, or clinical reports for publication, providing recorded short lectures and a semi-structured interview via Zoom). Periodically I could be called to support the ICAN editorial team for peer review of certain content.

As leaders in their industry and professional experts, PAC (Program Advisory Council) members serve as a bridge between ACHS and the professional communities they serve by providing important perspectives that ACHS may not be exposed to otherwise. Program Advisors have the opportunity to influence and inform the content and quality of the ACHS curriculum, participate in program development, review, and updates in several ways, including, but not limited to advising, assisting, supporting, and advocating for programs; providing suggestions for appropriate learning outcomes for a program, helping to ensure the proficiency and preparation of program graduates, assessing program quality and offers suggestions for improvement where needed. Examples include suggestions to modify the curriculum; review teaching materials for accuracy and currency; and offer suggestions for program resources such as textbooks, software, lab materials, etc.Provide volunteer/intern/work experience type positions where appropriate Promote the programs in the community where appropriate, provide industry expertise including information on workforce needs;facilitate relationships between ACHS and relevant stakeholders such as professional organizations, employers, other institutions, etc.

The IJPHA is a peer-reviewed professional journal dedicated to providing the professional holistic practitioner with useful information and resources to enhance their practice and expand their “toolbox.” The IJPHA is part of a world-wide community contributed to and read by aromatherapists, nurses, integrative medical practitioners, scientific researchers, and educators. Beginning in 2016, the IJPHA expanded its educational offerings to include seminars and workshops presented by leading experts in the field of Aromatherapy. Seminars are held in Boulder, Colorado.

As a Clinical Aromatherapist, I worked out of two locations in Illinois. I became a Certified Aromatherapist in May 2003 and a Registered Aromatherapist with the Aromatherapy Registration Council in December 2004. I am currently one, of only three, certified Aromatic Reflex Therapist (formerly Swiss Reflex Therapist). I moved to Colorado in August 2011 and currently work 30 minutes from Boulder in Longmont, CO.

Building a foundation for this non-profit organization whose mission is to "move aromatherapy forward with vision and action." Projects include: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2017 and 2019 International Aromatherapy Conferences and Wellness Expos and securing sponsorship for the organization and its efforts. Aromatherapy consultant for Hopes' Friends (part of Hospice of Northeastern Illinois). Hopes' Circle of Friends provided pediatric palliative support for children age birth to 18 who have life-limiting illnesses. Hopes' Friends, along with the services of other CAM providers, is conducted a highly successful pilot study to show the benefits of aromatherapy, massage and music therapies to provide hope, support and to enhance the quality of life for children receiving palliative care in a Children's Home in Bloomingdale, IL and hospice care in Barrington and Woodstock, IL. I have presented this work internationally in Japan, France, Hungary and in the UK as I seek opportunities to bring the aromatherapy portion of this program to palliative pediatric facilities in Colorado and throughout the world.

Responsible for coordination of all church activities, including community outreach and an array of diverse cultural activities. Works with the minister, church council and other staff to complete projects and create necessary documentation for meetings, Sunday service and press releases. Creates the Sunday Worship Bulletins, Church newsletter, and daily updates of church and community activities (for email and snail mail distribution).

I provide information to the Illinois Members regarding the aromatherapy industry and the NAHA organization. Meetings are held quarterly in Northern Illinois.I have also acted as the Tradeshow Liaison for the annual conference held in Boston, MA in September 2006.
