✨My passion and dedication are fueled by work that helps improve the lives of people, particularly those who have faced systemic barriers and inequality. My career trajectory has been non-traditional - encompassing Experiential Education Program Director, Construction Foreperson, Program Manager, Outdoor Educator, Theater Director, small business Owner, Innkeeper - and it is through these varied life experiences that I have developed a strong set of professional/personal skills and values. Perseverance, self reliance and a belief in the power of connecting with and supporting others are chief among them.My education and work in theater instilled a strong foundation in human skills and the ability to function as part of a team in demanding environments. The theater environment honed my natural ability as a clear, direct and compassionate communicator and capacity to connect easily with others, regardless of difference. It is where I realized that I love connecting with people and that laughter is important. My successful transition to the field of Outdoor Education and to serving educationally under-resourced communities was a turning point in my life’s work and has spanned the last 18 years. Starting as a Field Instructor facilitating programs with students, progressing to Management and culminating as Director of the Field Programs Team, my time at New York City Outward Bound Schools was instrumental in my development as a leader, supervisor and coach and an expert in the design, implementation and management of experiential educational programming for youth and adults. ◆My focus now shifts to center Reproductive Justice which is at the forefront of my mind and my heart. My aim is to utilize my proven expertise in people and program management to advance rights for all people to exercise autonomy over their own bodies and lives.
