Responsible for multiple experiments involving growth of unknown bacterium, DNA isolation, sequencing, pH and salt studies. Gel electrophoreses, data collection and analysis, spectrophotometric DNA and bacterial growth analysis, DNA BLASTing and submission. Microscopic classification of bacteria/fungi.

Infectious disease research. Scientific techniques preparing laboratory experiments, including: stoichiometry, making all the media and buffers necessary for bacterial and yeast cultures, protein and DNA electrophoresis, aseptic technique, and tissue culture. Splitting and maintaining mammalian tissue culture cells.

Hormone analysis in marine mammals using enzyme immuno assays (EIA), hormone metabolite extractions from saliva, feces and blood serum. Data/sample collection and analysis. Presented findings at the UW Undergrad Research Symposium. Funded by the National Science Foundation and NASA Space Grant Consortium.

Recording secretary for the Associated Student Council. Worked as a TA 3 days a week in a math class, helped students gain confidence and skills in basic mathematical methods and test taking. Pioneered the "Ready Set Transfer" (RST) program as a peer mentor and adviser. Helped fellow science students navigate higher education, study skills, choosing classes / general support for peers in the beginning of their college education.
