Graduate StudentUniversity Of Southern California Jul 2010 - May 2016Los Angeles, Ca, UsMy research during my graduate studies at the University of Southern California was focused on modeling two-sided matching markets. Models of this type have seen a wide array of real-world applications, notably the National Residency Matching Program, which annually assigns medical school graduates to hospitals for residency, and also high school assignment in New York and Boston. -
Economics Department Research AssistantBrandeis University May 2009 - May 2010Waltham, Ma, UsDuring my undergraduate studies at Brandeis University, my research involved using agent-based models to study emergent phenomena in simulated markets. The simulation and agent behavior was modeled using the NetLogo Modeling environment, a freely-available, cross-platform, agent-based programming language. Specifically, I examined whether the results seen in the series of laboratory experiments by Smith, Suchanek, and Williams (1988), in which inexperienced traders acting in a simple double auction market invariably generate asset price bubbles and crashes, could be replicated in a computer-simulated agent-based model. -
