I am a passionate lifelong learner and educator dedicated to meeting the needs of all children so that they can thrive in a safe and supportive learning environment committed to finding the greatness in every child. Thirty-three years of successful teaching experience in the Virginia Public School System has afforded me a wealth of knowledge and experiences that have helped shape me into the confident and effective educational leader I am today.My work in student leadership, soft skills' development and social-emotional learning is critical in establishing a safe and supportive learning environment. I am trained in Stephen Covey's, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The Leader in Me program used in schools globally to develop leadership qualities and opportunities for all children.Most recently, I have become active in early childhood education (birth-5) as a CLASS Certified Observer and data collector for the state of Virginia. Equity in education, child advocacy and support for families in need of guidance for services available for their children are areas of special interest for me.
