🎓 Neurobiologist with a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine with both national and international experience as a scientific researcher in the areas of neuroscience, cardiovascular, metabolism and oncology. After finishing the MSc of Administration and Management of the Scientific Departments in the Pharmaceutical Industry, I have redirected my professional career by applying my prior knowledge in a more clinical-oriented field as a way to contribute to health improvement. My interest is to enhance patients outcomes contributing to the development and dissemination of medical insights that impact patient care. I have worked as a medical information specialist and currently as a health outcomes research (HEOR) senior consultant. 🔬 During my career as a scientist, I have got a strong knowledge on the process of autophagy, an important cellular degradative and recycling process ♻️ whose deregulation has been associated to many diseases and isquemic damage. Together, my published works highlight the relevance of autophagy in retinal development, heart homeostasis, diabetes and cancer.
